This Calathea gets its name from the round, medal-shaped leaves - silvery-green feathering over a deep green base, with a rich burgundy underside that shows through as the leaves move over the course of the day. It's one of the more compact calatheas, making it an easy fit on a windowsill or side table.

Keep it in bright indirect light out of any direct sun, water with room-temperature water once the top of the soil has dried out, and it'll reward you with some humidity nearby - a kitchen or bathroom shelf works well. Pet-friendly and happy in a warm room away from cold draughts, it's a solid starting point if you're new to the calathea family.
